Lead contamination in drinking water is caused by existing lead fixtures and lead service lines that infiltrate the water source as it distributes to homes. The health risk of ingesting lead-contaminated water specifically targets children's development (i.e. behavior, intellect) and reproduction. A significant challenge to this problem space is the inconsistency in pinpointing an exact source and lack of information regarding lead levels. Our goal is to provide clean drinking water to homes and public spaces, through lead detection and cost-effective filtration. Contact Hands Across the Water at sung3@gatech.edu.
