We are looking into three different problem spaces: the lack of early diagnosis of dementia(otherwise under diagnosis), the unawareness of diagnosis among dementia patients, and the health of caregivers for dementia patients. Early diagnosis allows individual patients and their caregivers a number of decision making opportunities and to prepare in the long run. Also an early diagnosis allows for certain medications to be applied earlier and prevent serious medical issues. Currently, the diagnosis process does not help diagnose dementia earlier on, and the idea is to see if there are any means of recognizing side effects of dementia earlier on and encouraging those to make an appointment with a doctor.
