Cars emit PM 2.5 which increases health risks for local residents. This pollutant has been linked to cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, Alzheimer's, and low birthweights. Current solutions include active in-car and indoor air purifiers, car emission reduction technology, and government regulation of pollutants. Two solutions we are currently exploring are an inexpensive in-car air purifier and an outdoor art installation (to increase awareness and raise money for local organizations dealing with air pollution).
