Food insecurity affects individuals across the world, largely in developing regions. It is not as ‘glamorous’ as famine, but it is just as widespread. This is why it is our problem space. Through our interviews, we’ve discovered there are three main reasons why farmers suffer from this. Agricultural insurance is not effective in protecting their users from crop failures, seasonal and sudden. The lack of widespread information transparency inhibits price stability. Finally, undeveloped infrastructure prevents transportation and thus trade. For our team to succeed, our final solution must revolve around these areas. Contact Collaction at juliazhu20@gatech.edu.
