Most renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy produce the most energy in the daytime while considerably slack off during the night. In contrast, people's usage of energy is mostly concentrated in the afternoon/nighttime. In addition, states such as California implement TOU energy policies which scale energy price based off demand, which disables people from freeing up their energy usage. We propose a smart home type of technology that syncs people's household appliances with their homes, which allows them to monitor and control their energy usage.
