We want to use technology to address food insecurity in the Atlanta area. Through our research, we discovered that low-income people with effective grocery shopping skills are much less likely to be food insecure. We want to make these skills more accessible to all people. We are developing an app that would allow food-insecure people to input factors (such as their budget, means of transportation, food needs, etc.) and get back results that show the best grocery deals, how much it would cost to buy the food, and where they should make the purchase.
